Some families just feel like old friends the moment they walk into the studio—and the Cook family is one of them.
I first met Dillon and Katie back in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, when they reached out after having their first daughter, Raegan. With so many photographers unavailable or unwilling to take on newborn sessions at the time, they were left scrambling—until they found me. We created a cozy, meaningful session for their baby girl during such an uncertain time.
Fast forward to 2025, and I received a sweet message from Dillon letting me know baby number two, Georgia Suzanne, had arrived! And just like before, they hadn’t gotten around to booking a newborn session in advance. Life happens. But thankfully, we were able to get them in within just a few days of reaching out—well within that dreamy 5–21 day window when newborn portraits are best captured.
For Georgia’s session, they selected my Small Family Newborn Collection, which includes four beautiful poses of the baby alone, along with sibling and family images. Their goal was simple and heartfelt: capture the magic of becoming a family of four.
Big sister Raegan was such a sweetheart—full of pride and love for her new baby sister. She held Georgia so gently and had the biggest smile on her face the whole time. Watching her interact with Georgia made the whole session even sweeter.
Georgia was such a dream to photograph. She stayed snuggled and peaceful as we posed her, swaddled in soft, natural-toned wraps. Katie and Dillon gravitated toward warm neutrals and a timeless look, which perfectly complements the aesthetic of my cozy, boho-inspired studio space.
It’s always an honor when a family returns to me for another chapter in their lives. It means the world to know they trust me with their most precious memories—not once, but twice. And hearing that I “saved them again” made my heart burst just a little bit. 💛
If you’re expecting (or just welcomed your little one) and worried that it might be too late to schedule—don’t stress. I always do my best to fit in last-minute sessions when possible, just like we did for the Cook family. That newborn window is fleeting, but the memories we create will last forever.
