A Snuggly Little Fighter | Best NW Arkansas Newborn Photographer

It’s one of many the great things about being a newborn photographer.

Some babies just know how to steal your heart—and Henry? He came for ours and never gave them back.

When Henry’s mom Caitlin reached out to schedule his newborn session, I was thrilled to have them in the studio. But like any good story, we had a little plot twist. The night before his original session, Henry had a trip to the ER. He was pretty inconsolable (understandably, poor guy!), but thankfully it turned out to be gas. His parents were so grateful we could reschedule so he’d feel his best—and I was just happy to know he was okay.

By the time we finally met up for his photos, Henry was a little over three weeks old and full of personality. He had us laughing right from the start. When it was time for his sleepy baby poses, he was like, “Nah, not tired yet.” Cue the magic newborn cap trick—worked like a charm! And then, of course, when we needed him to be awake for a few shots? Total nap mode. My assistant and I joked that we had to treat him like a teenager—“Time to get up, Henry!”

One of my favorite moments was during his parent poses. Henry just wanted to nuzzle into his dad’s chest and stay there forever. Every time we adjusted dad, Henry would tuck his face into the perfect “you-can’t-see-me” spot. It was such a sweet little gesture, and it melted me a bit more each time.

His mom requested a natural, relaxed vibe for the session, with soft tones and a mix of neutrals and coastal blues—so dreamy and timeless. We kept everything simple, clean, and focused on the love between this new family of three. (Also, shoutout to Dad for showing up like a champ while recovering from ACL surgery!)

Henry’s session was a beautiful reminder that no two newborn sessions look the same—and that’s part of the magic. I’m so grateful Caitlin and Joe trusted me to capture this special chapter for them.

Thinking about newborn photos for your little one? Whether you’re expecting or already snuggling that fresh little babe in your arms, it’s never too late to reach out. I always do my best to make room for families—especially when life throws a surprise or two your way.

If you’re searching for the Northwest Arkansas best newborn photographer, I’d love to be part of your journey. 💛
