Most of the time, my camera is aimed at little ones chasing bubbles, moms cradling newborns, or siblings tangled in tickle fights. But every now and then, a couple like Phyllis and Austin reminds me how beautiful it is to celebrate just the two of you—especially when your kids have grown up and started families of their own.
Phyllis and Austin were referred to me by one of my sweet clients (thank you, Sara!), and from the moment they arrived, I knew this session was going to be different—in the best way possible. Their love for each other was effortless, their energy was unmatched, and their willingness to get a little silly was downright refreshing.
We met in Cave Springs on a warm, humid summer evening—one of those golden, glowy kind of nights that photographers dream about. And while the Arkansas humidity was doing the most, these two brought the fire. From romantic walks through the trees to a spontaneous piggyback ride that had us all cracking up, Phyllis and Austin were up for anything. In fact, they specifically told me they wanted to try poses that were a little out of the ordinary. YES, PLEASE.
Phyllis showed up in a stunning white formal jumpsuit with red heels that popped perfectly against the greenery. Austin complimented her style in a bold red dress shirt and light gray tie, keeping the vibe classy with a touch of fun—much like their personalities. Honestly, they looked like they stepped out of a magazine and into a fairytale forest.
Throughout their session, we shared so many laughs and just let the natural chemistry between them shine. They danced, they played, and they reminded me (and hopefully everyone reading this!) that documenting your love story doesn’t have an expiration date. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, an empty nest, or just because—you deserve to be seen and celebrated.
Phyllis and Austin mentioned their goal was to create great memories from this shoot, and I’d say: mission accomplished. Their images radiate joy, connection, and a deep-rooted love that’s grown stronger over the years.
