Crystal Bridges Maternity Photography | Ashley + Kris
I love the way that I met Ashley. Not going to lie… it’s absolutely my favorite. So, sometimes I will see posts on Facebook about the person looking for someone for maternity or newborn pictures. Ashley happened to post this on a garage sale site. I honestly thought that I would be out of her budget, especially since she was posting on a garage sale group on Facebook. Well, I had the phone call with her to discuss prices, and she didn’t care. I was her ideal photographer because I provided prints, I provided a service she valued. So, the moral of this story, don’t judge a book…ever. I absolutely adored doing Ashley and Kris’s Crystal Bridges maternity photography session.
Crystal Bridges Maternity Photography | Design
Ashley and Kris came for their consultation for their Crystal Bridges maternity photography session and after we were done talking over everything, Ashley decided that she wanted to move forward with my services. We then began planning out where she wanted her maternity session done. She knew that she wanted trees and a really beautiful location. We decided on Crystal Bridges. With her session being on a Sunday, I decided it was best for us to be on the trail less used so that she and Kris could have a little more privacy. We decided to use the North Forest Trail for her Crystal Bridges maternity photography session. Ashley told me that she had a few dresses she had already purchased for her maternity session, however, she texts me one day asking if the vendor I used had a specific dress she screenshot and sent to me. I looked and they did, so I ordered it for her. The dress she chose was from Chicaboo and it was a pure white fitted gown with chiffon on the bottom for a nice tossable train.
Crystal Bridges Maternity Photography | Session
The day of Ashley’s Crystal Bridges maternity photography session, I believe was fairly overcast, however, that’s exactly how I like the skies when it comes to my clients who have sessions outdoors. With the skies being overcast, I’m able to pull the nice dark tones out of the location and provide a moodier deeper tone to the images. Ashley, Kris, and I met at the overflow parking lot for Crystal Bridges across from the Amazeum, where I took out my changing tent for Ashley and allowed her to change into the maternity gown she chose. She absolutely loved the gown and it looked so gorgeous on her. Once she was settled in the dress, we began her Crystal Bridges maternity photography session. We walked across the street to the North Forest trail and just had a super friendly conversation. While having our conversations, I was looking around for spots that would compliment her and the dress that she chose for her Crystal Bridges maternity photography session. We took a small trail that looped off of the North Forest trail and it had some gorgeous flowers that were beginning to bloom. We then took our time and moved throughout the entire North Forest trail for Ashley and Kris’s Crystal Bridges maternity photography session.
I think one of the cutest moments throughout her whole session was we came upon a family that was having a picnic in one of the areas that we were in. The little boy saw her dancing in the wooded area and turned to his mom and said a princess was in the woods with them. They were walking out about the same time that we walked out and I said hello to the little boy to try to get him to smile, as he was just looking at Ashley the entire time we were walking out of their Crystal Bridges maternity photography session. His mom then told us what he had said and we all thought it was just one of the sweetest moments of the night.
As we were walking out of her Crystal Bridges maternity photography session, I decided to pull her off the side as I had found another area that I really liked and thought would pop so well for her images. She agreed, and it’s actually now one of my most favorite images from her session.
Crystal Bridges Maternity Photography | Ordering Appointment
Ashley scheduled her ordering appointment for her Crystal Bridges maternity photography session I believe a few weeks after her session. She came and absolutely loved her images. She managed to get her images down to 17 images that she chose to put into an heirloom album from Millers Professional Lab. She chose a metal cover with leather binding, rounded corners, and a linen texture to the pages. This album is absolutely gorgeous and represents her Crystal Bridges maternity photography session perfectly.
